Federal Government N50m Grant to Support STEEM Students: What to Know
The Federal Government is launching a fresh opportunity for Nigerian students with a new N50 million grant aimed at boosting innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences (STEEM). This initiative, named the Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), is set to begin in August 2025 and targets students in universities and polytechnics across the country.
The announcement was officially made by the Ministry of Education during a national stakeholder meeting in Abuja. According to the Director of Press and Public Relations, Folashade Boriowo, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, will formally unveil the grant program next month.
This new student innovation fund is part of the government’s strategy to empower Nigerian youth to build practical solutions to real-world problems and reduce graduate unemployment through entrepreneurship.
